I just found out today that you can show your project here in the forum. So I’ll just catch up now
I’ve been working on my 3D precision platformer Cloud Escape since the middle of last year. Last December I released the game with version 1.0 on Steam. The reception was great and surprised me in a positive way.
Below is a short description of the game and the link to the Steam page:
“What started as a simple game jam project transformed into a full-fledged video game. Cloud Escape is a stylized 3D precision platformer where every mistake will be punished. The game world features different themed areas, each of which offers unique scenery, mechanics, obstacles and traps. Are you destined to escape the clouds?”
This was possibly the most time-consuming game mechanic I’ve ever developed. Today’s devlog is all about the different types of turrets that Cloud Escape has to offer in its upcoming Tower Mode.
The game development work of “The Tower”, the new game mode (and map) of my indie game Cloud Escape, is coming to an end. The turrets, but especially their projectiles, were a very interesting challenge for me. Trajectory calculation, visualizing bullet trails, calculating impact points and so on. It was a lot of fun to develop the turrets and the corresponding game design. However, this task took me a lot of time!
The end of a journey…
This is the final devlog of my indie game CLOUD ESCAPE.
Well, this journey is coming to an end. This final devlog is about the remaining floors of the new tower map, about the completion of the game as such and about the feeling of having finished an indie game project completely.
I’m a little sad, but at the same time it feels incredibly good to finally be done! I’ve been working on Cloud Escape for over a year now and it’s time to start a new chapter. Thank you to everyone who has been with me on the journey, it really means a lot to me!
Cloud Escape 2.0 including “The Tower” will be released on September 5, 2022.
The new big (and free) TOWER content update for CLOUD ESCAPE will be released in just 7 days. To get you in the mood for the new game mode and the new map, I’ve just uploaded the new launch trailer to my YouTube channel. Hope you guys enjoy it!
Today I launched the final update for my indie game CLOUD ESCAPE.
You know, this is a magical moment for me. To REALLY finish a project. After more than a year of steady work! :')
