Hello
I hope this is not an inappropriate question, but I need to find info as part of some research I’m doing into a funding business plan.
I could do with some ball park figures on what Unity coders might expect to earn for a year’s work (full time). It is for an fps game which I hope to announce soon. In addition to the usual fps requirements I will want to do stuff which I don’t even know is possible or practical since I am not a coder, but examples include developing a fake weather system so that the weather can change within the course of a game level, that includes stuff like low moving clouds and mist (probably particle system stuff), changing from sunny to rain or snow etc. I would also like to look into a system whereby the player can effectively interact with other characters be they bots or real. Obviously I realise it won’t be full on conversations but I want to explore the possibility of introducing social politics into the game play. But one step at a time Please feel free to send a PM if that is a better way of doing things.
Thank you
Boxy
In general developers’ salaries can range anywhere between $50k to $150k USD per year, depending on their experience and the project. My experience has shown that the more the project sucks, the more it pays… the fun jobs pay less. So you should be able to get a decent full time Unity developer for closer to $50k per year.
Thanks so much for the reply Randy, very helpful.
Cheers

I think that relates to most things in life…
Lol, pretty much on the nose but I’m guessing you can exclude any job titles along the lines of ‘developing Unity’
