Collaborate together on student projects?

Are there other Game / Programming teachers that would like to collaborate on Unity projects?

I have listened to gobs of Alan November presentations and have thought about this type of idea for a while now.

I teach Game Development to 11th and 12th graders at a “Career Center” in Jackson, Michigan.

The first third of my school year pertains to Unity3D, so I am already partially done with it for this year. But, that is ok. I am covering 2D right now until Oct 22nd and then 3D until Dec 3rd. The other two-thirds of the year entail Mobile App creation, XNA, and Modding (with UDK and Source).

My ideas:
Teams (my kids and your kids) work together to make a 2D or 3D game. The focus would be on communication and teamwork. It can be as small or large as we want. I would say start small and build.

It would be nice to either have a collaboration with college students or kids from another country. But anything would be great!

thanks,
Steve

Thanks

Hi

I am happy to work on this with you. I teach 16 - 18 year olds on a 2 year game development course here in Plymouth UK. We will be using Unity for the first time this year, we also use UDK and various mods using the ID engine (Warsow, Nexuiz, Dark Mod etc).

Look fwd to hearing from you

Disaldo, sent PM.

Hey,

I’m here on behalf of a group of 17-18 year olds working independently here in India on an educational game. We’re just getting started, and exploring the possibilities for collaboration could be interesting. We’re somewhat lacking on modelling/art side of things, so if you need a great group of developers, we might make a good team. PM me if any of your offers still stand.
