Colorbox and opacity

Hi

(total newbie here, so please be gentle !)

I’m currently doing lesson 1 of the unity3d tutorial from learnmesilly.com

During the tutorial Will talks about adjusting opacity, but i can’t find that adjustment slider in my colorbox - ie. i only have R, G, B and A

Does this means that i cannot use opacity ?

I’ve looked in the documentation, but that didn’t clear things up for me !

A = Alpha is opacity

Okay, thanks - i’m wasn’t aware of that

Guess i leaned something new 8)

also, i would really appreciate of someone could tell me how to undo what Will is doing in part 7 of the first lesson.

It’s about making a smoke material for the volcano - my problem is that every time i try to get rid of the material i have created the smoke on my volcano turn into white squares

Here is the tutorial (it only lasts 3:32 min)

Well, if you delete the Material then Unity will fallback to the built-in default one. You just need to assign a new Material to the Particle System.

Okay, but what is the name of the default material ?

Also, when i select a new material it looks to me that unity ignores all the settings i’ve made for example the colors of the particles.

Maybe my description of my problem is too vauge !

please have a look at this image:

http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Components/class-ParticleRenderer.html

What i’m trying to get rid of can be seen in the lowest part of the image labled: (GreenPlasmaLightningBalBright) - this is something which is added as an extra or custom of you will and this is the part i can’t remove ! - if try yo reset all i’m getting is the white squares.

Also, i think i know why i’m getting the white squares - it’s because there isn’t assigned any materials to the particles, however, i can’t understand where the original particles along with its material went once the custom material was added.

bump

I’m sorry for being an @ss and bumping my post, but i would be really happy if someone could shed a bit of light on this as it puzzles me
