When I adjust and save my Max file outside of Unity then the max file turns pink in the hierarchy because the original file has changed. This never was a problem before because I could reimport the file and it would be the most recent. No problem…
Until, I resaved my Max file today and the file did not turn pink in the heirarchy… so I was unable to reimport the newest file. Worst yet, now the model doesn’t even show up in the viewport but it is still listed in the hierarchy as white. How can I reimport that file into the hierarchy without having to manually import the asset again?
I figured it out. You can drag the max file from the assets folder and drop it onto the file in the hierarchy. Then the model is replaced in the viewport.
