Colors of a sprite look dull when added to a UI panel

I have a little sprite that i want to use as a UI panel, and it looks fine when dragged into the scene as its own sprite. But the colors become dull and grey when its used on a UI Panel. Example below.

Hm, it actually seems to be somewhat transparent. I Didnt set it to be transparent, though.
