Command line export slow vs editor

Hello, I’d like to continue the issues I was discussing on this thread:
https://forum.speedtree.com/forum/speedtree-modeler/feature-requests-and-bug-reports/15337-command-line-export-slow-vs-editor

After some further testing, I think there is something wrong with the command line export.
In a test scene where we had over 1 mil triangles from imported meshes, we are finding that via the command line its taking tens of minutes to export the scene, whereas doing the same via the UI (even accounting for load time) takes less than a minute.
As I mentioned over on the old forum, changing export options did not gain us any improvements, so we think it may be something on Speedtree’s end.

This is a major blocker for our workflow, so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers - D

Hi @Dupdon,

We still need to look into this further; I’ll bump it with our devs. Do you have any more information from your tests that might be useful? Thanks!

Hi @Mira-cleGro, I’ve created a test scene with some debug data and a test script that reproduces the issue, is there an email address I can send this to you?

Excellent. Send it our way at support@speedtree.com!

I’m adding a quick update here for those who are interested.

Our dev, @GregCroft, did some testing, and it seems this is an issue in SpeedTree 9.5.2. However, it is not an issue in SpeedTree 10.

Those with Indie and Pro licenses can upgrade for free in your store dashboard.

Greg’s looking to do some further investigation into this problem 9.5.2. I’ll add updates here if there are any.
