Looks like a good start to things, but I must admit I didn’t care for your use of fog. The fog affects only the building and not the water nor your skybox and so it comes off looking, well, wrong…
Before entering the gate, perhaps the camera can do a brief “look up” at the sign above the gate? Like the character gets there, stops and looks up, while looking up the gates open, then the character looks level again and enters. Something like that?
Why does the “Choose a room” menu appear twice? Once before he starts walking then again inside the gate?
The repeated “oh boy oh boy oh boy” is a little off (grates on my ears a bit), and I think I’d prefer it if the whistling was just a bit slower and more relaxed.
Those are my immediate comments… Keep up the good work and of course keep us posted.
It was just a little quicktime video jesse, not even playable. hopefully one of this days, i’ll be able to post a beta prototype version, I also tried to find the file but I think I deleted it from my HD.
