Commercial Multiplayer allowed in free version?

quick question: can I make a commercial multiplayer game with the free version?

I used to be able to say that you can use Unity free to make any kind of commercial game you want. The only limitation is you need to make less then $100k per year from Unity.

Now what I have to say is yes, you can make almost any kind of commercial game you want, including multiplayer games. You cannot however make gambling games, embedded apps(whatever that means) or cloud hosted games (services like OnLive). The $100k limit is still there.

ah, ok
yea im totally against those gambling games, but does a shop system considered gambling? like spending money to buy a car, and even though it seems doubtful lets say I make over 100k from a game and wasn’t excpecting to, can I buy unity pro and be fine? or is it better to get unity pro before the game is released? just curoius

You can have in app purchases, no problem. You also can wait until you make $100k before buying Unity pro, there’s no need to do it in advance. Chances are if you make that much money you will want to make the game better, so you will purchase Pro willingly.
