Compiling MeshSyncDCC

Hello thanks for reading this
I’m somewhat confused, scatching my head on how to compile the DCC side of MeshSync and the doc wasn’t really into details of other package specified in CMake.
Are you supposed to point the other compiled MeshSync (and its libraries) to this right?

Any info on this is appreciated.

What are you trying to do by compiling DCC plugins of MeshSync manually ?
You should be able to install pre-built plugins via the Preferences page.

I’m trying to figure out the building setup for both to poke with the code and also have it build against newer version like for Blender 4.
Right now the release candidate is 0.18.0-preview works with Blender 3.6 so.

I noticed there are others are also asked for Blender 4 so have some information on that would be nice.

The documentation to build DCC plugins manually can be seen on this page:
BuildDCCPlugins.md

To add support for newer versions of Blender, you can refer to merged PRs in the past, such as this PR to support Blender 3.5.

Thank you for your interests. As you might have noticed though, Unity has recently done a “company reset”, and as one part of that, we have set the priority of MeshSync to low at the moment.
That being said, we are monitoring users’ feedback, and should we gather sufficient input, we will revisit this decision.

Hello, I’ve been using MeshSync lately to synchronize Maya’s model information to Unity, it’s really great, but I’m concerned that this hasn’t been updated for over a year, there’s the ability to set the asset location, the material creation feature, but there’s not the ability to auto-recognize the use of the materials that are present in my Unity, and of course I’ve read in other threads that it’s not supported at the moment. Currently though, when I’m syncing information to Unity, my Maya will lag to the point of being unusable if I turn on automatic syncing of skeletal information.
