Completely confused--What is the path forward for simple multi-player?

Hi,

I have a simple multi-player game that I want to connect to another instance running on a local network, so you can play against them. But reading the blog, it sounds like the old way is definitely on the way out and the new way isn’t available yet.

Am I wrong there?

Is there a simple path forward for games like mine, that play peer to peer?
