Confined: The Beginning survival horror

Hey guys, been working on a Unity project for a few days now, not ready to show much yet.
But, what I’m aiming on is a survival horror(first game) So, progress will probably be slow, since i’m still learning Unity and C# at the same time, but I’m liking my progress so far.

Anyway, enough of that.

Confined: The Beginning*

The story is still a WIP, but at the start you play as “insert character name here” who has just been released from a insane asylum(Generic right?) after being deemed insane and having nothing but terrorising nightmares when your family was brutally slaughtered right before your eyes, in your house, which you thought was safe.

Ever since being released, everything hasn’t been the same, after the first few nights you soon become aware, that your nightmares are reoccurring again, and this time, they seem more real then ever.

Planned:

The major feature I want to implement in this is, during the day when you’re awake everything you do has an effect on what happens when you fall asleep, like basic things such as drinking, eating and doing illegal things(I want to really extend on this).

My aim is to remove the generic flash light used in a lot of survival horrors, and put in something, a little more interesting…
To that point but, at this moment the flash light is implemented .

As little combat as possible, After all I’m working to make a horror game, combat generally gives you a sense of comfort because you could be able to fight back, but in this case you won’t receive that comfort ever.

No health, just the usual Sanity/scare meter which when hits a certain point, well you have one chance to snap out of the insanity or well, go insane. Because once you go insane, the game isn’t quite over, until you snap out of it, well things get a lot more intense.

Things I want to avoid or have very little of:
Jump scares.
Combat altogether.
Comfort.

More features to come.
Mostly completed:
Character movement and controls.
Sanity/scare meter.
First few rooms for the first level of the nightmare stage.
some sounds ready and made use of.

Progress to be done before alpha release:

Build starting house.
Finish off the starting of nightmare levels.
Transition between the “real” world and the nightmares.
For the really big risk takers. Hardcore mode will be, HUD less.

Sounds like a good start :slight_smile: I hope you’ll be able to show something soon though cause without any media (screenshots/videos/webplayer) there is not much to give feedback on yet :wink:

I know! I am working as hard as i possibly can while having a full-time job. but I’m aiming this weekend for a release.

Yeah, always makes everything longer, luckily i have a week off in about 10 days. so that should help.

Same here, to all the others, working on a survival game to an extent right now. In high school and trying to work on it as much as I can while trying to enjoy life outside of my home and school
