hi there
i have read the unity end user license, but it doesnt state anywhere if unity license is per seat or per title …
can anyone help me with this and clear my doubts???
how many commercial games i am allowed to sell with unity licenses?
its very common this kind of licenses among game engines… which require you pay a fee for every title developed with the engine or you need to pay a fee for every developer involved, no matter how many titles are developed commercially…
which is the unity’s case???
can anyone clear this out ???
thanks in advance

Unity is per developer, so you need to have a unity license per developer on your project. Additionally you are not allowed to mix Unity License types (indie and pro) on a project. Either all are Indie or all Pro
There are no restrictions on the amount of titles you can create with it or royalities you have to pay.
thanks for the info

I knew there was a usefull page on it, you can find it here: Real-time tools for 3D, AR, and VR development | Products
I forgot the fiscal turnover part above as I am far away from it so I normally don’t have to take it into account.
But for you it might be of importance
One exception: Wii titles are licensed on a per-game basis. You’d need the Nintendo Devkit for it as well, though. And that one’s up to Nintendo to judge whether or not you can use it, from what I’ve gathered.
I’m here to offer an official confirmation of what’s said above:
-
We license Unity and Unity iPhone on a per-seat or per-developer basis, but both allow you to create and publish an unlimited number of titles. What’s more is that the licenses are perpetual so you can use the major version your license relates to as long as you have hardware that supports it.
-
In order to develop content for the Wii you need to be an existing Unity Pro license holder and an authorized Nintendo developer with a Wii dev kit. With those in place you can then license our engine for use on the Wii on a per-title basis.
Any other questions? Fire away here or send 'em to us at sales@unity3d.com. Rock on.
I am an indie developer I have a laptop and a desk top and have free unity versions on both if I want a licence to upgrade to unity pro versions do I need to get 2 licences??? For myself who is the sole developer? That would not make sense…I would expect to pay for one licence as I am the only developer and should not have to get 2 licence as I use my MacBook Pro when I am away and desktop when I am home for games developement.
Please straighten this confusion for me thanks.
