Connecting to Asset store through proxy no longer works

Hello All,

Having an issue trying to connect to the asset store. Due to high restrictions on our network we must go through an external proxy server. To access the asset store we previously used environment variables which seemed to work (HTTP and HTTPS). However, since we have updated to 5.1, trying to access the asset store simply crashes the Unity Editor when these variables are set. We can access the asset store now without the environment variables but we cannot download anything… simply get a message saying error when trying to download.

Any other way we may be able to access the asset store items through a proxy?

Hi Devon,
Unfortunately no…
This is known issue and its mentioned in the release notes. We are working on the fix at the moment.
Thank you!

Thanks Gennady for the answer, I will look into other means from our side!

Hi, I also need to access the Asset Store through a proxy, any hints when it will be fixed yet? Is there any other way to get assets? On the webbased asset store I only see a “Open in Unity” Button, which opens the Unity asset store and tells me that I am offline. How do I get those assets?

I have this problem too, but the firewall/proxy issue also stops me from logging in when Unity starts (so I have to work in off-line mode) and I cannot submit bug reports (therefore I cannot report this as a bug and “vote” it up in priority). I’m supposed to be reviewing this software for additional license purchases but I cannot recommend it because it just doesn’t work.
