Console Error: Init must be called first - [PackageManager] Could not create file at:

I am getting some errors when I try to open my project after upgrading to 2021.1.13.f1

Oddly there is no other information than:

“Init must be called first”

“[PackageManager] Could not create file at:”

… and then nothing after that.

Anyone run into this before?

Same Probleme here, after downgrade will the projekt load without error

Same here, it’s also forcefully adding Collab, Visual Scripting and IDE support packages to the project and every time I remove them, they keep coming back.

Wiping the whole Library directory seemed to fix the issue for me.

Two more things I did besides wiping the Library:

  • go to Project Settings->Services and enable, then disable Collab
  • I was using the beta version of Unity Hub, went back to the production version

Sadly, deleting the whole Library dir didn’t work for me. Well, yes it did the first timeI opened my project, however next time I got this error again and it do weird stuff.

Really annoying, can’t figure out what it causing this, trying to go back in my commits to see what I have done but haven’t been able to find anything yet :frowning:

After some back and forth in this thread with shomz - it seem to have fixed my problem to opt out of the Unity Hub Beta! (Yes, it’s off, why should the Hub have anything to do with how the editor runs - I have no idea!)

Anyway, after opting out of the Unity Hub beta, it start op with out any of these odd errors and is now running fine on 2021.1.15f1

The solution to this is to not use the Unity Hub Beta.
