constrain particle system

Is there any way to make a cone particle system contrained on the z axis? I am making a two dimensional game and I really need the particles not to drift away from the player on the z axis. Thanks for your help!

You can limit the velocity in one of the axis to zero, this prevents them from drifting up or down.

Under the inspector check the “limit velocity over lifetime” box and the separate axis checkbox. Then set one of the axis to zero and the others high.
