Controlling ball using joystick?

Hi)
This what i use to controll my ball with accelerometer,

moveDirection.z = Input.acceleration.y; ; //Roll axis
moveDirection.x = Input.acceleration.x;

But i want to make it possible to control my ball with penelope joystick.
I made something like this:

var moveDirection = Vector3( moveTouchPad.position.x, 0, moveTouchPad.position.y ) ;
// Apply movement from move joystick
var absJoyPos = Vector2( Mathf.Abs( moveTouchPad.position.x ), Mathf.Abs( moveTouchPad.position.y ) );
if ( absJoyPos.y > absJoyPos.x )
{
if ( moveTouchPad.position.y > 0 )
moveDirection.z *= moveSpeed * absJoyPos.y;
}
else
moveDirection.x *= moveSpeed * absJoyPos.x;

But this dont work:(
What i’m doing wrong?

Solved:)
You need to add variable of joystick:

var moveJoystick : Joystick;

And then set move direction for joystick position:

moveDirection.z = -moveJoystick.position.x;
moveDirection.x = moveJoystick.position.y;
