"Converting" 480x320 iOS build to double sized desktop build for video recordings

So, we reached a point where we’d like to record a nice gameplay footage video, that’s not shaking because of my left hand trying to play the game and my right hand holding the camera.

I thought we could just build a desktop build at double the resolution and it’ll be perfect for grabbing videos and screenshots that could later be downsized.

As it turns out, that’s easier said and done. We couldn’t figure out a nice and easy solution without completely rewriting and assigning everything to make this special build work

- So I’m asking, do you guys have any tips for recording stuff like that off a windows desktop pc ?
- Software, Tipps/Tricks ?
- Can I manually tune up the game’s resolution ?
- How can we achieve recording game footage at double the resolution than it actually is ?

Any help would be much appreciated
If there’s anything not clear enough, I’d be glad to answer any questions.

  • Set target as webplayer so yo can type in the resolution you want
  • Play the game inside unity + ios remote view turned off
  • Record with fraps or etc

And we could change the actual game resolution there to, e.g. 960x480 without the game getting broken/screwed up and rendered weirdly ?

Yes if you have done the game right way. If it goes broken then it means its messed up for a lot of iOS users?
