Good day to all. When developing VR modes, such a problem arose. The environment is too convex. How to deal with this and in what direction to dig? For example, a screenshot of how it looks and what you would like to achieve.
VR lenses are biconvex, so when you look through them the image is distorted. To fix this distortion, cardboard SDK is rendering a convex image to “un-distort” the image. This is distortion correction.
Your first image shows distortion correction, and is correct.
Your second image shows no distortion correction, and this will not look correct when viewed through a VR headset.
If you want that view, toggle “Stereo Display Non Head Mounted” in VR Supported settings. You could also use an older version of Cardboard SDK like 0.6 and turn off distortion correction.
