Conveyor Test Loop WIP

Here is a first round sample of a conveyor test loop that I have just completed. The boxes on the conveyor are not keyframed. They are using the physics engine with forces being applied. Let me know what you think.

Unless someone knows a little something about conveyors I’m not sure they know to be impressed.

The angled rollers on the accumulation conveyor justify they boxes through physics alone? The animation and textures on the gaping belts is really nice too. What vendor (conveyor) is this?

That is really impressive! Could the shape of the track be altered dynamically like a flexible conveyor, or is each track section manually designed?

Thanks for the input so far!
@Charles - The rollers on the conveyor are angled to justify the boxes to the inside guard rail. The conveyor is not vendor specific yet. You’re right, I should have mentioned this is not a game but rather a proof of concept, mostly to prove out the physics (so its probably not very interesting other than that). It still has some kinks to work out there.
@Pinkhair - Thanks. Each track section is manually designed. Ultimately though, as the library of conveyor sections and types grows, the possible configurations will increase too.

Hey there, I work for a conveyor company in the uk. Really interesting work. care to share your scene file interested to see how you animated the conveyor belts.

Oh and Well done.

Even on my old work PC I’m using on the moment, this reminds me of the mail sorting centers that you see on TV, in shows like Border Security, etc. Still, pretty nice work there!

pretty nifty  simple but fun to look at…

Hi!

I am interested in how you pulled this off?
