Cotton Candy!

Just a quick question… And I’m really not sure where to put this topic, so I placed it over here…

Anyways, for our game, we plan to have huge chunks of cotton candy on the terrain, and make cotton candy stuff, but I’m not sure how to create the effect of cotton candy…

My current idea involves pink clouds, although I’m not too sure how to make them land on a terrain…

Can anyone give any suggestions?

Thanks!

could always go with a fuzzy eraser in gimp or photoshop, and kind of lightly erase the texture, then use a sculpt tool to give it some puffyness with an inflate brush, you can do this even in blender. Id make the texture seamless, and then you basically map it to the shape of your cotton candy. There are a variety of shaders to support transparency, you may want to go with one of the particle shaders, or maybe even the vertex lit for a cloud look.

Ahh… I see…

Thanks for the advice! I’ll give it a shot.

Maybe Thomas has some tips for you. Check out his last post in his thread here: http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=54155&start=105

I could easily see the look he has there being tweaked to look like cotton candy.
