could not initialize home screen window ?? win 8.1

Hi
On a fresh install of win 8.1, updated vga and direct x i get this error : could not initialize home screen window

I checked directX settings and everything is active, my laptop’s vgs is quadro nvs 160M

how can i solve this problem?

Try this:

For Windows 32 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x86 : VC10 SP1 vcredist_x86.exe

For Windows 64 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x64 : VC10 SP1 vcredist_x64.exe

Hey guys i fixed it ! just make sure u delete the Visual C++ if u already have it installed and reinstall , that worked for me :slight_smile: cheers!
