But could bitcoin mining replace adverts for free to play games?

Screensaver app anyone? ;0)

The guy claims that it was ‘accidental’ and it only ran for two days. Whereas most people had been noticing difficulties for over a week and burnt out GPUs are reported(But no proof of that being a result of the mining from what I’ve seen).

Last I heard anyway…I guess they’ve changed their story?

You’re a few 0’s off, it made $3.7k, not $3.7m.

You mean ESEA, the eSports Entertainment Association, which has nothing to do the publisher EA.

You’ll earn a lot more on ads, than on bitcoin mining. Even if get +25% users because your game has no ads.
Oh, and your game will also run worse…

No, there is no reason your computer will run worse.

Yes there is. Bitcoin mining isn’t a free operation. It requires GPU and/or CPU calculations to process, and the process gets more expensive as time goes on due to the low number of viable coins being generated. And considering how the bitcoin market is notoriously unstable and lost more than 66% of its worth in less than an hour last week? Yeah, they’re just a stupid idea in general.

It will run worse and it may even be damaged as a result.

Not too mention the negative impact on your product…

mosewell just throw some spyware in there while ur at it.
