CPIDROID is it against google play store policy?

Hi guys,

Would like to check if using CPIDroid is against google policy. I’ve tried finding reviews on quora and other forums there seems to be 0 reviews besides one person that leaves a message on every thread on quora promoting CPIdroid (could be an employee of CPIdroid). It feels like it’s running something similar to Adwords campaign but not 100% sure. I really need to get some downloads/installs to get my paly store search up, but I want to do it legally and not break any policies.

Thanks for the help in advance!

It can be classified as a store manipulation which may result in a temporary or a permanent ban of the developer account. Check your developer agreement.

Thanks for the response, but the answer you provided is still unclear. I’ve read the policy about store manipulation. But what I’m asking is using CPIdroid store manipulation or is it just like how adwords campaign works by advertising your app and racking in downloads legally?

Why not ask on a google developer forum? I’ve found them to be quite responsive to questions.

A quick search shows that is extremely dodgy. I would worry less about if it is against google policy, and more about if they are steal your identity and other information. It appears to be a phishing scheme.

If you send me your credit card info, I can check to see if your identity is still safe.

HAHA sure thing! Thanks for the heads up about that. Any recommendation for something similar to adwords that actually work. Adword is so expensive I set a budget $5 per day and bid $0.1 per install and nothing has been happening. All stats are 0… that’s why I was looking for an alternative option.

There are many rude and harsh people going at you for being clueless in the google developer forums, I found unity forums to be much morefriendlier. If I posted it there I would probably receive like 30 comments on why are you trying to do this why not do that and that with your app, you are an idiot for doing that and all sorts of comments.

If there was a free, easy solution that worked, everyone would be doing it.

Hey BoredMormon,

Not looking for free options only, I don’t mind paying for ad campaigns and all. It’ just that adword is crazy expensive suggested $0.60 - $7 per install, even thought you can set it lower which I did (0.1) nothing is happening to the campaign. Where as CPIDroid offers 0.1 - 0.17 per install (just that I don’t know if it can be trusted or agasint policy like zombie gorilla said).

There’s just so many scams that ads have no real meaning on the internet unless it’s to raise awareness for the launch of something people have been waiting for ie next big thing. So I don’t have any confidence in advertising at our level of market exposure. I actually kind of think advertising is for big names because people trust big names.

If I made some sort of game about carrots and advertised it on facebook, it would blend in with all the other ads and be a waste of cash. But if I was advertising an EA game I expect people would at least take a peek. Even if not, the brand is in the mind.

Sounds absolutely right. Guess for small games you got to wait it out a bit and hope for the best.

Having an active social media network would make for good advertising with only time being the investment. Additionally you could try a mobile game publisher. They’ll advertise for you. Gamasutra has some articles covering it like this one.
