When I attempt to load my project in 2.6 Pro, it always crashes Unity. I have been unable to load this project in the new version.
I wish I had more to go on, as I would post whatever debugging info I had on this forum and probably get a better response. As it is, I have no leads. Nobody else seems to be having this problem (perhaps I just haven’t searched the forums thoroughly enough) and there’s nothing damning in the crash log.
I am able to load other projects I have started after the requisite conversion, but this one project is stubborn. Unfortunately, it is the project that will pay the bills :?
Contact support@unity3d.com - they might be able to suggest something if you can send them the offending project file.
I contacted support yesterday, waiting to hear back. I couldn’t attach any files, as the project folder is about 700mb.
In the mean time, does anybody know where I could find Unity 2.5 for download? I’d like to keep working on the project, but I’m not seeing a download link anywhere.
I got the project to open. I thought I had replaced the Pro Standard Assets, but I had not. Now everything seems to work. I have other issues with my shaders and such, but that can be debugged.
So, lesson learned: When you upgrade, make sure Assets->Pro Standard Assets is replaced with the new version
