This week I’ve averaged 2x per day that I’ve locked up while importing assets or converting platforms, and the computer becomes completely unresponsive.
Then when I power off and power back on, the entire project has been lost 1x, and it’s had my entire “scripts” folder in “standard assets” disappear more than once…just lost it again and lost everything I did today, all scripts, models, textures.
It’s a Mac computer, Quad core 2x2.8 ghz xeon, 16 gigs ram running osx 10.7.5
Any ideas? I don’t have this problem at home on my PC…worst thing that happens at home is too many roots if I don’t restart it every now and again, but I haven’t actually had it destroy a project/assets in years…
The same thing is happening to me but not nearly as often as you. My problem is that the hard drive is starting to fail. How old is your computer? Do you notice any weird sounds coming from the computer?
