Unity Learn released the New Course specifically for this Crazy Web Game Jam: Getting started with Unity Web.
It’s recommended to use Unity 6 due to improved performance on the WebGL platform.
The Goal of Jam is to grow the creative economy by fostering new talent, discovering innovative games, and supporting studios with fresh ideas.
I read the Jam rules completely, and there are some misunderstandings about using 3rd-party assets.
So here is an official explanation from Rafael_CrazyGames:
Q1
Clarify this Rule:
“The Organizers do not restrict the use of ready-made and/or paid assets during the Event as long as they are credited.”
When buying Assets on the Unity Asset Store, you can use them without any credit anywhere based on the Asset Store Terms of Service and EULA.
So why this rule exists? How exactly I need to give a credit for asset using in the game?
A1:
You don’t need to give credits for assets that you are not required to do.
Q2:
Clarify this Rule:
"Exclusive Development Period: Games must be developed exclusively and entirely during the Event period.
Games may be disqualified if premature development is suspected.
“Premature development” is defined as any development or creation of game elements (excluding general idea brainstorming and legal use of third party assets during the Event) that occurred before the official start of the Event."
What if I am an Asset Store Publisher? Based on this rule, I can’t use my own assets. However, other participants can buy my assets and use it, which gives them an advantage.
A2:
You can surely use your own assets. No problems with that.
We have this rule so everybody starts in the same conditions. If you are buying an asset on the Asset Store or using your own it’s the same for us.
What we don’t want is that people upload a complete game that was made previously and not during the jam.
So, I wish you Happy Jamming!
