Create Hanging Cloth in Blender

Hi all. I’m attempting to create a hanging piece of cloth to be used as a flag. There isn’t going to be any wind so it won’t need to move. However, all the tutorials I’ve watched animate movement. I’d like it to look like this : Textures for 3D, graphic design and Photoshop! Any ideas on how I can do this?
Thanks

if the object is going to be static you can simply mesh the object and assign a normal map to aid in the folding of the cloth.

You also also animated some movement and simply take a screeny(or bake the mesh if working in 3d) and export that. Blender’s simulations let you take the modified versions and turn them into geometry. Example, people could make donuts by have a torus be a thick liquid, fall on top of the donut meshes, and then freeze and bake at that just right point where the liquid is looking like donut icing chocolate on top. The same process can be done for a cloth flag, do a simulation of it, and then bake that nice frame into your mesh, or if for 2d renders just render at that frame.

Create a cloth simulation (click here if you haven’t done that before), find a frame in the timeline where it looks like what you would like it to look like to look like then in the modifiers tab of the flag object click Apply on the Cloth Modifier

Thanks for the replies. It is going to be static so no animation will be needed. Could you give me more detail? E.g step by step etc as I’m a beginner in Blender. Thanks
