Create new keyboard shortcuts in Unity with no extra app

Not really an external tool per se, however System Preferences → Keyboard Mouse let’s you add new shortcuts to existing menu commands in Unity (it even puts the new short cut label in the menu! Nice!)

So for example, you can map Option-R to Render Settings… this let’s us users create shortcuts to all those little sub-menus that really should have their own toolbar buttons (Quality Settings, Input Manager, etc.) :stuck_out_tongue:

Just wanted to share for those who are not already benefiting from this feature.

After 1.5 years of using OSX and I’m still finding nice new features… :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool tip, thank you

This works for any application, of course.

However, I can’t get Safari’s “Clear History” to work reliably, via a keyboard shortcut. Any ideas why?

thanks! been looking for this through unity settings itself. guess will have to use the lion osx.
