Create physics (flip, backflip)

Hello, can someone say me how do they get funny physics flips in game Backflip Madness?
could someone create same physics or any assets that I can buy?

Its likely just animations rather than any fancy physics.

It looks like there’s some conservation of angular momentum junk going on in there. When the character tucks in, they rotate faster, etc:

ΔIα = 0

Some simplified calculations for I (moment of intertia) would make this simple enough to simulate, I think… but does Unity handle this already? If an object’s I changes, will it conserve angular momentum? I’ve never really tested this.

Its animations 100%. Not sure how you could think it was anything else, nor do I think anyone would be silly enough to try and do this with physics.

i’d vote for physics…

We might be considering subtly different aspects of the game’s system I suppose… I did explain exactly why I would presume physics calculations are involved, and it isn’t silly at all.

The movement of the limbs is almost certainly animation based, but the rotation of the body appears to obey the law of conservation of angular momentum (only from what I can see in the video in the OP). I can think of ways to do the rotation with animation as well, but I don’t see how it’s 100% certain that that’s how it’s done in this game.

In any case, it’s just a guess.

Undeniable that the player is bouncing around as a rb with a capsule collider, but beyond that I would be very surprised.

Look at hardkour… same idea really. My guy jumps and flips and does all that stuff, but there is no physics beyond the collider bouncing around the level. Its all animations.

No, it is actually physics coded. Play the game, I believe it is free and try it out :slight_smile:

It´s look like animation mixed with physics ragdoll similar to the game “Red dead redemption”. Play normal animation if fails play ragdoll, in my opinion.

this guy gets it.

not interested enough to care tbh.

I’m inclined to ignore the Debbie Downer and agree with mgear. Id’ suggest asking the Backflip Madness devs they don’t seem to be updating or online much these days. You might be able to tweet/contact PunchesBears and ask him about that stuff. I think, at least at some point, all his animations were physics based. He also devs in Unity for sure.

I prefer Negative Nancy. Thanks.
