Creating 2D Scene newcomer problems

So i have gathered png images of tilesets from forums etc…(A png image that has many assets created inside)
A image with many assets inside so… shall i cut each asset from the image? and how do i do this? with sniping tool or with gimp? (why dont these people post each png image separate… is there a trick or something?)

Also i have created 2d pixel art myself and how do i transfer it inside unity what image type does it need to be?

My goal is to make a game in summer and i am a little rusty i have only made 3d games but i am in love with 2d.

I ll also search in asset store for pretty 2d assets

Any feedback/info about anything is welcomed … i just want publish my game in summer and my goal is self improvement and at least one dollar earnings xd

I know how to code but have never used 2d assets in my life

Also do i put each png image manually and create something like super mario or is there a better way? i know this is time consuming but i dont know how am i supposed to make a scene from small png images each one being a different block that all of these together can make a beautifull world/scene

this is an example and also if anyone has found anything beautifull in asset store he is welcomedd to post

Oh my gos so many beutifull assets in asset store so wonderfull !!!

I’m new to this too, but I think you are looking for the “Splice” options. You can have a single image, that you then mark areas, each area will act as a separate “sprite”.
As I said, I’m new, so I don’t know if this is the 100% right track, but I came across a description in the Qill18Creates tutorial Unity Base-Building Game Tutorial episode 8, or 9 I think.
