usually, a 360 image is used as skybox-material. this limits imo the use of such pictures, as a player could only stay at one exact position (the position of the 360-camera when shooting the image) in order to keep the illusion of being at that place.
so, my question: if i for example have five 360-images. they are taken within a room. one is taken in each corner of the room, and one in the center of the room. would it be somehow possible to “fade” or better interpolate between those 360 (set up as skybox?), in order to be able to move a player inside this room and having the surrounding 360-images adjust conforming to the position of the player in the room?
the idea behind this is to not build the room in 3d-space, but to take photos of a existing room and be able to move a 3d character within it with correct geometry of the room-pictures.
easy, take a look at how Google does “Street View”…
this page explains how you can get Google to make your 360 box for you
don’t think this will be of any help. i need to have this within unity. in my example, i would have 5 360 boxes, and i would like to interpolate between them (at least two boxes at a time) conforming the position of a player.
