Ok. I need to build a custom character that is fully animated in Unity 2D. I enclosed an image of the character and what I need him to look like. The fingers need to be poseable and so do the arms on the Alien. Is this possible in Unity? If this is not possible to do IN unity then what program can i use to make this happen? I have Maya and CS5.
Not used Maya myself but Maya or Blender (for those on a smaller budget) allow you to rig models.
I suspect you’re going to have steep learning curve but look on youtube for Maya rigging tutorials.
This one should get you started for non-standard (i.e. bipedal) rigging.
You said 2D, so I think this asset may help you. See the last thumbnail. It’s a 2D animated hand with a skeletal rig.
