THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
OK here is some feedback which might sting a little.
All the textures are blurry and muddy looking.
All the bushes are the same bush with color variation. May want add some variety.
The thick black outline is overly-done, and it isnāt obvious from the one image how this āstyleā helps the visuals. It may look better in motion - it may also look odd with thick black outlines in random areas. I say random but I believe the outline is set up to silhouette mesh objects as long as the mesh objects arenāt intersecting other mesh objects. This might be problematic in game because a lot of meshes intersect in a a normal 3rd person 1st person game environment.
If your looking for more positive feedback please release additional images or video for review that show off the positives about the game, characters, enemies, more environment with fewer blurry textures.
Thatās cool, at least someone replied.
Sorry about that, I must have forgotten to boost up the quality settings.
Alright, Iāll work on that, Iām sure I have some other bush assets sitting around.
Thanks, Iāll fix that.
There will be more pics probably in the next few weeks, so be patient Thanks for your feedback!

Just a quick update
Weāre changing the storyline a little bit and the summary that was originally written above will also be changed. Even though the new changes to the story may kill any chances of a sequel, it will still be a great game.
Weāre also thinking about putting the game through the Steam Greenlight process when itās finished.
Photos and extra details coming soon!
There is now a GameJolt page for this game, itās called Virtual Crisis.
The estimated release date has changed from June toā¦ Well, weāre not quite sure yet.
The game is about 40% done at the moment, and weāre upgrading to Unity 5, so the game is being delayed. But donāt worry, this is just so we can improve the game and make it even more awesome.
Thanks for reading! Got any questions? Reply to this post.
Yep, Unity 5 sure has a lot of new features. This will be hard to get used to, so, this project will be on hold until I can actually use Unity 5. TTYL
Wait, so you collect scripts, and thereās a monster constantly chasing you?
And itās not a Slender clone?
Because it really sounds like a slender clone.
Letās assume itās not for the time being though.
From the looks of it, the levels look very bare and uninteresting.
The level design looks reminiscent of Wolfenstein 3D, as there is no floor variation, no ceiling variation, and flat walls.
You also said it was a shooter, but there is only a single monster chasing you that you canāt kill? What do you shoot?
Iām also assuming this is your first game, or one of your first games.
If so, I would take this as a learning experience, and not spend the $100 to get it onto greenlight.
This gonna sound pretty harsh, but unless the game gets a drastic overhaul I canāt see it being successful on steam.
I would suggest instead releasing it for free on IndieDB, which costs nothing and will be a great place to get feedback.
Other than that I canāt really give much feedback, since youāve only given us small snippets and a teaser image.
I would also stay away from āteaserā stuff, as we are fellow developers, not necessarily your audience that will be playing your game, so donāt be afraid of possibly spoiling stuffā¦ The more information you withhold, the harder it is for us to give feedback. Remember: Youāre not trying to sell your game to us
Thank you for your reply!
Not exactly, you only collect ONE script PER DAY and RETURN to your spawnpoint before he catches you. The script and enemy spawn in different rooms every time you play and he gets faster as each day progress.
Iām surprised you havenāt figured it out by now, but itās no longer going to be a shooter game. That was the ORIGINAL plan, but it ended up turning into this.
No, I have been developing games for a couple of years now, just not under the Polygon Carnage name. Iāve been trying out different development tools and I found Unity to be quite useful.
The game will be available on GameJolt for FREE
Thank you for your feedback, it is useful to me and helps me make my games better. Have a nice day
It would probably be a good idea to put the updated plan on the original post
I donāt know man.
Slender:
- Single monster chasing you, canāt hide from it
- Collect notes
- Monster gets deadlier as you get notes
Virtual Crisis:
- Single monster chasing you, canāt hide from it
- Collect scripts
- Monster gets deadlier as you get scripts
Sure you only get one script a day, but it still sounds really similar to slender.
Maybe make it so that the player has to activate something, or has to reach a place to complete the day, but having a single monster and a goal of collecting a fixed amount something makes it sound really similar to slender.
You can do what you want with your game, and it may be even more in depth than it appears (the gameplay that is), but most people will see the description, see that you are chased by a single monster and must collect something, and will immediately assume itās a slender clone.
I said this before, you find the script and go back to your original spawnpoint before you get caught, that IS a goal.
Correct, there is an interesting story involved too, and you will also have someone to guide youā¦ Or kill you, one or the otherā¦
Sorry, this game has been cancelled.
I upgraded to Unity 5 and Iāve been playing around with the new features, I feel like I want to make something that would really show off the new engine and take advantage of itās capabilities to make an even better game rather than porting old garbage to the new engine and not change much.
Iām going to build a new game from scratch with the new and improved Unity engine, sorry to bring you this news, but I will be making something better. Thanks for reading, I will close this thread ASAP.
