I want to draw a specific part of a texture on the screen as my hp bar, for example, the texture width is 200 pixel and the height is 20. Now I want to crop a rectangle such as ( 0, 0, 40, 20 ) of it without scale this texture. How can I do it?
Fire up a copy of gimp, paint.net or photoshop and crop out that portion and save it as another bitmap. Alternatively, in 3dsmax I’d uvw-unwrap the bar geometry and apply just that selected area of pixels to the bar geometry, which has the advantage of not creating another bitmap, but could be problematic in other ways.
