Is it possible to have an Authoritive Server, MMORPG which can be played on Both PC/Mac as well as Xbox, on the same server?
I am thinking of creating an MMORPG where players can play on both platforms with eachother, without seperate servers for each platform. I just would like to know if this is possible and if it has been done before.

Unity has an example of this in the Support section.
It is not possible to cross platform with consoles because Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft absolutely will not allow it.
It’s one of the big reasons why Valve had a falling out with console development (in a very colorful fashion).
What about only PC + Xbox360? I don’t plan to deal with other companies. PC + Xbox360 are both by Microsoft.
Don’t take this as a guarantee, but there is a game called shadowrun which was multiplayer with PC and Xbox so it probably wouldn’t be a problem.

Because if you don’t, I wouldn’t worry about this for the next 4 years or so. And by then anyway there will be a new Xbox.
To do PC/XBox cross platform games you need to use Microsoft’s Windows Live Games APIs, and players… well they seem to hate it.
Mind you, there is Final Fantasy XI as a cross-platform game that does not only run in the PC and XBox but also on the PS2, but that’s Square pulling powerful strings with Microsoft.
