Curation Team, Stop the Hate
I have been working here as a content creator for over five years without any issues, but in recent months, the curation team’s strange behavior has started.
Despite not violating Unity’s policies:
- My products have been forcibly removed without prior notice.
- Numerous products have been declined with no discernible pattern.
- Emails have gone unanswered.
I have endured months of frustration.

While there is no clear pattern or explicit reason, the only one I’ve noticed is that ever since I updated my profile to reflect that I am an Asian artist, I have experienced what feels like “RACIALLY MOTIVATED RETALIATION”.
For instance, they have been rejecting hundreds of music tracks — which add up to more than 100 hours of runtime — in a mere two minutes. See the time stamp of email. [Link to Dropbox screenshot: Dropbox Capture]
Before this decline, I received the following email through another thread:
Email Content
Hello,
We’ve noticed a very large number of packages from your account. Users have consistently demonstrated that they are not very interested in purchasing smaller, individual items for $5. Rather, for content like music and sound, they prefer larger packages of consistent audio that match well.
Consider that users are not generally going to need just one track, but multiple tracks for an entire project — and it is important that the tracks work well together for a cohesive experience.
Given the AI music generation scene, it’s quite easy for individuals to create tracks.
If you’d like to continue publishing on the Asset Store, please re-work your packages to provide groups of tracks that are cohesive and provide value as a group, rather than individual packages. Our content operations team will continue to reject individual tracks at this point.
Thanks!
Andrew
Even though each of my original packages already included 20 tracks, with about 1 hour of content, I did understand their perspective to some extent. So, I focused on reworking the packages right away.
I spent almost ten days working tirelessly to repackage all the products from my five-year portfolio, sometimes working through the night. It was about 200GB of music tracks and it is a huge volume. Now, every package includes more than 100 tracks, and the total runtime for each package is around six hours. So I submitted.
However, the curation team declined all products in just one minute, leaving me with a single word, “UNFIT.”
Since I followed their guidance, I emailed to Andrew, who sent email to me, again with the following message:
Email to Curation Team
I am currently receiving numerous emails from your review team stating that all products have been declined. What went wrong this time that has led to every product being turned down?
- Quantity of Tracks: As you suggested, instead of including only a few tracks in a package, I have bundled a significant number of tracks (most of them exceeding 100).
- Pricing: I set the price appropriately to match the package value, not just at $5.
- Packaging: Ideally, I would prefer to include even more tracks and publish them as a single package, but due to Unity’s upload limit of 6 GB, I divided them by similar genres.
- AI Music: If only AI-generated music was declined, I might have thought it was part of your policy. However, it seems that even non-AI music is being declined “INDISCRIMINATELY.” I cannot understand the criteria here. (The decline reasons are extremely unhelpful and lacking.)
5.Perceived Bias*: As someone who has been publishing for nearly five years, these recent declines feel like a “BLACKLIST TARGETING A SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL.” There seems to be no discernible pattern, and I cannot make sense of why the rejections are occurring.
What exactly is the reason for this?
I sent this email to Andrew, who seemed to be involved in the process, but the only response I got was “reply to the decline emails”. When I followed his instructions and sent emails to the curation team, I received no response (as expected — they have never responded to any of my emails over the past five years).
I just want to understand the reasons behind these actions so I can make the necessary corrections. However, the curation team’s actions so far make it feel like “HATRED AGAINST AN INDIVIDUAL” or “DISCRIMINATION BASED ON ETHNICITY.”
Is there anyone who can provide a clear explanation for these declines?
And why has the curation team closed off all official channels of communication, forcing me to figure out the reasons on my own through the community?
I emailed Andrew, who I believed to be a relevant contact, but the only response I received was a passive suggestion to “reply to the decline emails.” Despite following his instructions, the curation team has never replied (which, to be honest, is no surprise — in five years, they have never responded to any of my emails).
All I want through this entire ordeal is to understand the reason behind the declines and to make the necessary adjustments. However, the curation team’s actions up to this point make it feel like nothing short of “HATRED AGAINST A SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL” or “RACIAL DISCRIMINATION.”
