Cursor disappearing when trying to edit properties in the Inspector!

From time to time, I noticed that the cursor disappears when I go to change some of the settings in the Inspector. By disappearing, I mean the vertical | edit cursor is no where to be found and text highlighting also stops working.

This can happen with any editable property in the inspector. Has anyone else run into this? It is not a big issue but not seeing the cursor or the results of what you are selecting / highlighting for edit is a bit annoying.

I wish I could reproduce it but I simply just happens at random times (several times per hour) when I am tweaking shader settings (tiling or offset) for instance or any other property in the inspector.

I’m having the same problem. Reinstalling Unity and restarting my computer did nothing.

I have the same problem with version 4.2.2. Some fields doesn’t show up a cursor and some of them doesn’t even show a textbox. But all of them are modifyable by the “mouse scrolling feature”.

At least I learned from this thread, that I can type the desired value, even if no cursor is visible. But nevertheless this GUI-issue should be fixed.

Does anyone know what the cause of this is?

I’ve been getting it for the past year on and off - normally shutting down Unity and re-opening would solve it (for a while, it always returns), but with 4.2.2 I’m getting it constantly.
