When I am using the cursor mode ForceSoftware the shade of the cursor changes, and appears much darker than it is supposed to be.
I have tried all the available ‘Formats’ and all result in the same issue.
This problem ONLY occurs when i use ForceSoftware (which i need because i need the cursor to be larger than Auto allows, to my understanding). When using cursor mode Auto, the colour displays as it should however.
this is what the cursor looks like as compared to what it should look like
does anyone have any idea what the cause of this could be?

I have this exact issue and was about to make a similar post. I have no idea what to do, I’ve tried everything. Have you found a solution since posting this or are you still waiting? I’ll wait with you, if that’s the case.
Encountered similar problem.
Problem: cursor set with ForceSoftware is expected to be in linear space.
Solution: don’t use ‘Texture Type’ ‘Cursor’, instead use ‘Default’ and untick ‘sRGB (Color Texture)’ off.
If you are coloring cursor texture in script (like me), you can convert sRGB to linear by raising RGB values to power 1/2.2
