It’s been said in other threads, but I’ll reiterate: Unity Hub is awesome and super practical in everyday use, but installation still leaves to be desired and in particular doesn’t work well for teams at all:
- need to be able to specify a download/installer path, which could act as a repository (LAN anyone?) so that if I download it once, my teammates’ Hub will find it and install from there (CRC checking the installer is valid etc)
- need to be able to install any version, not just the latest… I mean come on?? I installed 2018.1.6f1 on my desktop yesterday, and this morning I log into my laptop, want to install the same… nope, not there. I would see it as a new tab below Beta Releases, All Releases, like a treeview 2018 > .1 > .6 > all patches etc (maybe show the latest version at the top of each level)
- to make things worse, I looked in my desktop’ %TEMP% directory, the 2018.1.6 installer is nowhere to be found, even looked with Everything. Yesterday when I install I got a “corrupt install” error at the very end of the installation process, but it the end it had worked, after restarting Unity Hub the version was available.
