I have purchased the iOS license for $400. If I override the splash screen using Xcode’s Launch Image editor, my app crashes at startup. Is this expected? I mean I already paid for the license. Why can’t I show my own splash screen?

Customising the splash screen is an iOS Pro feature. You can of course display your own splash screen following the Unity one, simply by creating a start level that displays whatever graphics/textures you wish.
