Hi all…
Is there a chance to customize a lightmap through an external image editor?.. i want to add more contrast, some effects… and manage the lightmap texture in Gimp… but the “EXR” extension does not work on Gimp… some ideas?
Thanks.

Sure, you can do anything you want with the lightmaps. Lightmaps are just image files with the only special thing about them that we write them in the EXR High Dynamic Range format to keep all the lighting information (and allow for more manouverability if someone would like to extensively edit them manually, like changing exposure).
Now from what I know Gimp isn’t very good at handling any HDR images. Photoshop on the other hand works fine with HDR images, including .exr. Kinda pricey, though…
Thank you!, i will try photoshop, i guess there is an external plugin for photoshop too called openEXR, but i can imagine cs5 can handle it automatically
