Custom lightmapper--Can someone please take a look at this?

This is posted in the UniTree forum, but activity seems very low there:

Please, if anyone has any other suggestions, I really need to get the tree shadows lightmapped.

thank you

Well, I had the same problems with my lightmaps.
The reason for this was that I transformed my terrain before calculating lightmaps. Just try to zero the position of your terrain and recalculate the lightmap, then you can reposition it again as you like.

I’ll try this, but I’ve never moved it since creating it. I would think it would be created at zero. I’ll take a look…

ok, this is a different scene, but I still can’t get this to work properly. You can see that the lightmapper lay down a strip of shadows down the center of the terrain. It’s like it just needs to “stretch” to the proper width of the terrain. The terrain was at (0,-50,0) for this lightmap. (Y:-50 so I can Paint Height, then depress down for water.) If I move the terrain to (0,0,0) it comes out all black, like the smaller terrain on the lower left. (That smaller terrain was moved to (0,0,0) prior to it’s lightmap, and moved back into position for this pic)

Please help! Thank you.

Has anyone made this lightmapper work? I’d assume so. Does anyone have any tips? Do your terrains have to be square? (I hope not, because it’s pretty late in the game)
The default size field is set to 512 in the lightmapper–I assumed this only tied into the quality of the shadows. Am I wrong? What gives?
