Cutout shaders not working on Android


I’m having a problem with the cutout transparency on Android and Unity 5.4.0f3

To be sure I tested in a brand new 3D project using 3 different Unity shaders:

  • Standard shader with “cutout” rendering mode
  • Legacy Shaders > Transparent > Cutout > Diffuse
  • Unlit > Transparent Cutout

My scene is working fine in the editor, but when I run on Android, I have no transparency.

My Android is a Sony xperia Z3 with Android 6.0.1

Edit: tested on an Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, the cutout is working on it!


Looks like CutOut shader is not working for devices with the GPU Adreno 330
