Dale Hardshovel HD

Another fine Unity experience is nearly complete at phime studios.

Meet Dale Hardshovel fearless australian archeologist – a mixture of characters between Indiana Jones and Crocodile Dundee.

Help Dale in the quest of searching for all the pieces of the mysterious Bloomstone. Match the artifacts and win the trophies for outstanding performance. Lead Dale’s daughter Daisy through mummy-crawling mazes, and earn some more help in solving brain-teasing puzzles. Go all the way through the Big pyramid and decipher the papyrus of the secret brotherhood in Egypt.

The original Dale Hardshovel game was made in 2007. using C and SDL library – combination that made sense for that time. The game was developed for PC and Windows and later ported to Mac OS X. Our production boosted with the Unity engine and now we are able to port this games to desktop platforms and also to iOS and Android phones and tablets.

Old 2D version of the game new 3D version of the game remade in Unity

Gameplay in Dale Hardshovel HD was inspired by old puzzle game by TAITO called Puzznic. Main idea in the game is that you move, drop and connect artifacts to solve the level. The level is solved when no artifacts are left in it.
The player moves artifacts and connects those of the same type. Artifacts are also affected by gravity, and they drop when moved over the edge of the platform. Some levels contain special elements and features that pose an additional challenge for the player, such as teleports, magnets, etc.

moving stone, platform up-down, mud block, teleport in/out, magnet switch/attractor, crumble block, spike

Post has been updated due the bad images in attachment!

@fano_linux : Thanks! Follow the updates :slight_smile:

Looks cool, except I don’t get the HD … it’s not the kind of game to make people want to get it for its graphics. HD goes well with really lush environments.

@imaginaryhuman we added HD for the remake because the first version was 800x600 SD 2D game - remake is scalable in 3D to HD resolutions and works on retina mobile devices :slight_smile:

I like it, it’s definitely a time killer!

@dtg108 with 100 quirky levels included - definetly a time killer !

We are plannig to include an in-game level editor so players can design their own levels and upload it for others to play

That sounds great, I’ll spend countless hours that I could be doing something productive with on this game. It’s pretty cool.

@dtg108 Ok - your irony is pretty clear :wink: We don’t care what you’ll do with your productive time … Better continue to work on “Not dead enoguh”
