Daredevil devlin - platform racer for mobile (wip)

Hiya guys, well met. We are a startup game studio from Indonesia.

We want to present to you the WIP of our current and flagship game (and our only one currently, but we definitely hope not our only one at all time ), Daredevil Devlin. It’s a 3D rendered in a 2D world vehicle action platformer like Bike Baron or Motoheroz. The art style is based on a stylish but simplistic art of Manuganu and Bike Baron.

Currently the game is almost finished, and just needed a few more touch. Any comment and suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It looks very clean. Only suggestion I’d make is to maybe make the background image/clouds change or maybe transform. But very good style keep it up

Have options to size/place buttons or users might moan at you

Very nice! I think the drop shadows on the buttons are too big and unnecessarily take up space.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

@OffThHeezay91: Thanks, that’s just what we are aiming for. A simple yet clean art style. However, unfortunately we are using the default static skybox from Unity for the background and clouds. We can do a dynamic one but I don’t know what animating / changing the texture every once in a while would do to the performance. And what we are afraid of is that it would distract the player from the game. We will have to test it ourselves though.

@hippocoder: Thanks for the advice. Sorry to ask, but what do you mean by that?

@MooseMouse: Thanks for the advice. Our artist said that it’s fine. But then again, we will discuss it more in the future after more tests are done.

I agree with that. It covers too much of the screen. But other than that, great looking game!

Very nice work. Its looking great. And from the video it looks very fun. Something that would be perfect for mobile. Nice models to.

Very Cool! Like it!

Thanks for all the feedbacks and comments.

@carking1996 : Thanks, we’ll be discussing the button issue. We made the buttons pretty big because we will be launching the game for both the tab sized devices (iPad, Galaxy Tab, etc) and phones (iPhone, Galaxy S3, etc). If the buttons were too small, we were afraid that it will become too small. Maybe we can try to implement different sizes for each devices.

@snowconesolid: Thanks, yeah the style is easy on the eye.

@emergki: Thanks. We’re glad that you liked it.

WIP report. Like most of you have suggested, I resized the buttons to a smaller one. Here’s the new screenshot. Please if you have any more comments or suggestions, we would like to hear about it.

BTW, about the option issue that was suggested by hippocoder, I believe it won’t be necessary because I made it to be automatically adjustable based on the device’s aspect ratio, so it would always be right on the sides of the screen.
