Dark and light lines on joints

Hi,

How can I remove of soften these artefacts with out upping the Baked Resolution ?

If I set the Baked Resolution high or very high they will disappear but at a great cost to baking time and light map size, as this is for mobile I need to cut down whatever and wherever I can.

I’ve made sure the UV’s are good, and if you look at an other part of the scene with the same setting it looks OK.

In Picture 3 the joint goes to the floor, the top block is half the size of the bottom block, and the bottom block has no artefact running down its joint!!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I get these whenever I have 2 meshes abutting each other in a scene. Typically I’m either i’m using separate meshes to help with lightmapping, or I plan to break the scene apart. But my current project is using a lot of prefabs to create rooms, looks like that what your doing. I’ve been using an asset called “simple mesh combine”, it’s great. After I construct the room, I really don’t need to maintain the prefabs anyway. Plus you can export the combined meshes for UV work or to color vertices or whatever.

Using “simple mesh combine” sounds a good idea, I’ll take a look at that, thanks …
