I’ve decided to make a game called “Dark”. The main aspect of the game, will be that you have a limited sight, and everything is green. It’s green for the effect of “Night-Vision”. The start of the game places you in a field, and you must find your way out and back to safey/sanity.
Some areas include:
Field
Mansion F1
Mansion F2
Boiler Room
Sewers
Hospital
Lab
Road
This project is going to take a long while to complete, but so far it’s going well. Level design wise, I’m keeping it simple; walls, and doors. Until I finish a good chunk of the game, I will not be focusing on detail.
As for enemies, I currently do not have a clue as to how they will be scripted. I’ll be honest now. I’m asking anyone for any kind of help with that aspect of the game.
I originally only wanted this to be a single level, “find the items” game, but due to actually thinking it out, and thinking of a real plot for it, I think it would be better to make it into a full fledged game.
Weapon wise… There will be a flashlight. That’s it. I will not discuss what the flashlight can do AS a weapon, though.
Open a Dropbox account. It’s free and lets you host any file you want (plus backup and synch files)
Don’t forget to replace https by http at the beginning of the dopbox url for your webplayers… otherwise people get security alerts because Unity Webplayers are not secure elements.
I’ve decided on a system for the doors, which so far are going extremely well with the rest of it. I will have sliding doors that you must manually drag open and closed, and they slide directly into the wall. I designed it to be something that would take up a precious moment of time when being chased by a monster.
Also, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment.
I have now finished (for now) the first level of Dark. It consists of a smaller forest, and the objective of level one is to find a key near a dead tree. This key is used to eventually get inside of the mansion, but as this is just a small demo, I will not allow you too yet.
also, here’s a small video i worked up. For demo purposes, see if you can get to the dead tree, then to the house without the monster “catching” you. (as previusly said, i need help with enemy scripts) Pretty much if he touches you, game over. So… how is it? please. any feedback is great. I personally feel as if the enemy is too slow. ONE LITTLE PROBLEM: Unity doesn’t like certain anti-viruses, so you might have to turn your Anti-virus off for it to work. IT depends on which one you have.
