Darkened Worlds

[About the game]
Darkened Worlds is a typical JRPG but in 3D. I’m trying to keep the super deformed colourful JRPG style to everything, so I’m going for a sort of windwaker style of graphics.
It will have typical JRPG side quests, treasure chests in random places, and a typical JRPG story about four crystals and the tree of Mana.

I know its the same scene from different angles but I spent all my time trying to load in the trees of late so this is all I have to show at the moment.

looks really nice. I love the “cartooney look”

I agree with jermaine. Your terrain character have a nice look!

Would love to do a logo, gui etc for this if this game ever goes alpha or if you do get realy serious with it.

Been adding stuff like the grass and the house.
I think its looking ok so far
At the moment I have mipmaping turned off on the trees to avoid the halo that apears(because I chose whit as transparency color) so Ive still got to fix that and then I think Im gunna start making real sections of my game because this is just a test area

New building, The Inn.

and in game

Ive still got to add the sign to the front(board on chains type sign) but I want to animate that(wobble it in the wind type animation) so Ive not added it yet.

any ideas, suggestions?

Suggestion: Learn To Go Toony!

No, seriously, this all looks great. That toon shader there can be of serious help for your project. It’ll look Wind-Waker-esque like you want…but better because it’s yours.

Additionally: Any chance I could have some pointers on everything concerning your grass billboards?

Got my first town pretty much finished

photo bucket annoyingly resized the image making it fuzzy :frowning:

@ asvarduil
I am using toon shading(toony basic) I tried the out line ones but I didn’t like the way it shows up certain seams in the character. but I will experiment with it and see what I can do.
as for windwaker, it never had outlines(see image in the link)
