is there a tool with which i can easily browse and view the dxtc-format to the dds files in a folder?

On a Mac I don’t know any. On windows there’s one texture viewer from nvidia and ddsview at least.

yep on windows i’ve used http://www.xnview.de/ so far although you don’t see the DXTC details with one view.

There’s a plugin for GIMP that can open / save DDS format files. Not sure if it works on a Mac though.
Just googled and found it:

Looks like there’s only a Windows version (and the source if you’re brave enough to try to attempt to build a Mac version)…
On Mac OS X, Graphics Converter can open them.
